How to Choose the Right Rosin Press?

When considering purchasing a rosin press, it’s important to evaluate your needs carefully. Whether you’re planning to do small extractions or require the power of our more robust options, we have the ideal machine to help you achieve your extraction goals. The key is to choose wisely, considering the amount you wish to process and your pressing experience, to ensure that your investment is not only suitable but also effective in the long run. It’s not necessary for everyone to have an industrial press for their extractions. If you plan to use it occasionally and with small amounts, buying a large size and capacity machine can be a waste of money. Choosing a compact machine from our range doesn’t mean you have to compromise on the quality of your rosin. Continue reading to find out the options available and how their features can cater to your desired outcomes.   Comparing Results   Among our most popular options, the HC Portable and the HC1 Electric offer ideal solutions for small and medium quantities, while the HC7 stands out in handling larger volumes. Although productivity can vary, performance remains exceptional.

Rosin Press 7 ton Hydraulic Honeycomb Press

The HC Portable is ideal for getting started in rosin extraction or for those looking for occasional use. With a maximum force of 680kg applied to plates of 50x75mm, it generates sufficient pressure to obtain returns above 15%. Its compact and lightweight design of only 5.3kg offers portability and easy storage. This machine is perfect for small-scale extractions of up to 4g for flowers, offering quality results conveniently.

HC1

On the other hand, the HC1 represents a significant advancement in terms of comfort. This electric press eliminates any physical effort through its automatic operation activated with the simple touch of a button. Its ease of use, combined with its maximum power of 1 ton, makes it the ideal choice for those looking for more frequent use. It is capable of processing up to 6g of flowers and delivering returns of +20%.

HC7

Finally, the HC7 is designed to meet the demands of users processing larger quantities of material (14g Max). It is also compatible with the Drip Tech Mount Stand, which allows the machine to be rotated vertically and pour the extract directly into the jar, thus speeding up the extraction process. Its great power of 7 tons and 2 heat points on each plate guarantee returns of +24% easily.   Having said this…do you already have a clear idea of which press is ideal for you? It is crucial to be clear about the use you will give to your new press. While there is a difference in terms of performance, if its use will be occasional, you surely will not notice the difference in return. Now, if you are one of those who intends to process large quantities, a higher capacity version will mean a higher return and save you a lot of time. What is the difference between a manual, electric, and hydraulic rosin press?

Manuals: Operated by a locking lever mechanism that the user physically actuates. It has an adjustment knob, which determines the pressure depending on how much it is tightened. Generally, these machines are more economical. Electrics: Eliminate physical effort and offer a more comfortable user experience. Presses or releases the plates with just the push of a button. Hydraulics: Generate pressure through a hydraulic jack, generally of high tonnages. These presses allow you to feel the applied pressure, a feature some users prefer.

What factors determine the percentage of return?

Mainly the quality of the material, but also very important is the humidity (65% ideal) very dry or very humid flowers significantly reduce the return. High temperatures generate an increase in return, but also a greater fluidity. The applied pressure is also determinant in the return, which is counteracted by quality: the higher the pressure, the higher the return, sacrificing the quality of the extraction.

Do all machines use the same filter bags and paper?

HC Portable: our small filters (1.26×3”) are ideal for this machine in conjunction with 20x10cm paper. HC1 Electric: for quantities up to 4g, the use of Small filter bags is recommended, for quantities between 4 to 6g, the use of medium filter bags 2×4” is recommended. 20x10cm paper fits perfectly to this machine. HC7: For quantities up to 9g, medium filter bags are recommended, for quantities between 9 to 14g, the use of Large bags 3×5” is recommended. In both cases, A4 paper is the best option for this machine.
